The Forever Centre

THE FOREVER CENTRE

Saving Suffering Strays have been fundraising to purchase a property in Bosnia to rehouse Milena and the younger dogs that she currently cares for in her 12th floor apartment. Thanks to a phenomenally successful ‘Evening at Burgh House’ in March 2018 hosted by our patron Peter Egan with Rick Wakeman and Jon Culshaw in London, Saving Suffering Strays launched a life changing auction to raise funds for a new facility in Bosnia for the street dogs in our care rescued by lone rescuer Milena Malesevic. From bricks to tiles, wardrobes to washing machines, taps to dog bowls, and everything in between, each item was available to bid on. It was a phenomenal success and the auction for life raised enough to purchase the interiors for the kitchen, a bathroom, and shower room, along with having the initial funds of £1000 to outfit a specialised puppy area!

THE FOREVER CENTRE

With additional donations since the launch we are thrilled to announce that we reached our initial goal and have now located a suitable property and are hoping to have completed the purchase in the next few months. There is still time to support us though with our ‘Buy A Brick’ appeal and buy a brick in memory of your loved one to help us with essential work we will need to carry out. While we wait for the purchase to complete we have thanks to support from Olsen Animal Trust purchased a small caravan for use on our land which gives shelter to Milena and our volunteers when working with our dogs.

THE FOREVER CENTRE

We are always looking for volunteers to join our team and while Covid-19 restricts travel there are still lots of ways you can help us to raise funds to complete the work on the new property. From all at Saving Suffering Strays we want to thank you for your continued support to acheive our goal and we very much hope you will JOIN US ON THIS JOURNEY!
